Our Basic Right - Compassion, Hope, Transparency
Founded in 2004 in South Kivu as a local development initiative, the NGO Our Basic Right, abbreviated as Obr ASBL, was officially registered at the national level in 2020. Its National registration number is No F.92/36914 from the National Ministry of Justice No JUST/SG/ 155/2020. In Haut Katanga province, it is registered under number 0112/080/2021 of March 26, 2021. Its headquarters is currently located in Lubumbashi in Haut Katanga in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Obr Asbl works for women, children, youth and people living with disabilities. Its interventions cover peace promotion, assistance to victims of fundamental rights violations, social justice, empowerment through micro-enterprises and environmental protection.

Food insecurity is a problem in certain villages in upper Katanga, including Kombo. These villages need both national and international support to improve their agricultural production at a time when global warming is affecting everyone.
